Youth Tracking and Wilderness ProgramsYouth ages 11-18 can participate in our one-day introductory program which takes the lessons of a lifetime and condenses them to a fast-paced, day-long program. For children under 14, the day program is required before participating in any of our overnight programs. All programs focus on the understanding of basic tracking concepts and rudimentary survival and wilderness skills, with emphasis on safety and fun. Our three-day, two-night in-depth program offers ten times as much fun and learning as our day program. Participants learn to identify a track, date a track, follow, and understand the story of the track. Additional seasonal and location-specific activities are included. This program has a ratio of one adult per two or three children. Other programs include private commissions, with individualized focus on specific challenges. Youth and their adult companions have a rare chance to learn other ways to be in the wild country with increased awareness and expanded skills. |
